Electrical Ingeneering, Communication Technology, Computer Science or Physics (m/w/d)

Rüger I Abel is a renowned patent law firm with a total of 23 employees in the heart of Esslingen. We offer our well-known clients from Germany and abroad comprehensive IP advice: from advice on patents for technical inventions, designs and trademarks to the filing and defence of their intellectual property rights. We advise in all scientific and engineering disciplines, in traditional and emerging industries, across national borders.

As the Rüger I Abel law firm is constantly growing, we are always looking for committed and highly qualified employees. Are you curious and like to get to the bottom of things? We offer you a fresh, pleasant working environment in which you will be supported and challenged, in which you can work independently and fulfil a demanding role.

With us you realise your potential

You will support your trainer in the daily support of our clients. You will learn how to prepare patent applications as well as drafting submissions for the relevant patent and trademark offices. You will also be involved in communication with foreign colleagues, so that in addition to German law, you will also learn the basics of the most important international jurisdictions in intellectual property law. You will also be familiarized with trademark law and design law. In a later phase of the training, you can participate in complex application procedures if you wish.

What you bring

  • Completed university degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines.
  • Necessary practical experience that qualifies for training admission, e.g. through a doctorate or industrial activity.
  • Enjoyment and curiosity in familiarizing yourself with new technical issues.
  • Interest in legal issues.
  • Enjoy working with languages and texts.
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills.

What you can expect from us

  • In-depth training in day-to-day work by one of our partners.
  • All the knowledge required for successful training.
  • The opportunity to work with a team of technically and legally experienced experts to support top international corporations, medium-sized technology leaders and innovative start-ups in protecting their innovations.
  • The chance to learn from your colleagues on numerous occasions, to exchange ideas with them and to share your own experiences and insights.
  • Attractive additional benefits, such as travel allowances.
  • The option of working from home and flexible working hours (flexitime).

The aim of the training program is to qualify as a German patent attorney and to be authorized as a registered representative to the European Patent Office. The internal part of the program is flanked by a course of study at the FernUniversität in Hagen and a 6-month internship at a regional court.

We look forward to meeting you!

Please send your detailed application documents to Mr. Peter Abel.
